Who can take part

  • You have type 2 diabetes with a blood sugar control measure (HbA1c) between 6.5% and 9.0%
  • You have mild cognitive impairment—meaning you've noticed some memory or thinking difficulties but can still do most daily activities
  • You are between 40 and 75 years old
  • You can complete memory and thinking tests and brain imaging (MRI scans)
  • You are right-handed and have at least 6 years of formal education
  • You have not used certain diabetes, brain, or psychiatric medications in the past 3 months
