Eye Muscle Training for Outward-Turning Eyes in Young People

Who can take part

  • Age 6 to 25 years old at time of enrollment
  • Diagnosed with intermittent exotropia (eyes that turn outward intermittently) of the Basic or Divergence Excess type
  • Outward eye turn of 10–40 prism diopters (a measure of eye alignment) at distance
  • Good vision in both eyes (20/125 or better) when wearing glasses if needed
  • Never had vision therapy, patching, or eye muscle surgery before for this condition
  • Able to commit to 24 weeks without planning eye surgery or other conflicting treatments
