Heart Device Detected Irregular Heartbeats: Treatment Study

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a heart rhythm device implanted (pacemaker, ICD, or CRT device)
  • Your device has detected brief fast irregular heartbeat episodes (6 minutes to 24 hours long) in the upper chambers of your heart
  • You have not been previously diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, or other sustained upper-chamber arrhythmias that needed treatment
  • You are willing to attend follow-up visits and provide written consent
  • You are not currently taking certain heart rhythm medications (class I or III antiarrhythmics) for irregular heartbeats
