  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having planned (elective) surgery on your lower leg, knee, hip, or foot
  • You can hear normally without a hearing aid
  • Your pain level is mild to moderate (5 or lower on a 0-10 pain scale)
  • You are not currently in another research study
  • You do not take sleeping medications or drugs that affect sleep
