  • You are 65 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for major cancer surgery expected to last at least 2 hours under general anesthesia.
  • You do not have a fever or active infection before surgery.
  • You do not have certain brain conditions like Parkinson's, epilepsy, or severe memory loss.
  • You are not critically ill (for example, severe heart or liver problems).
