  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have beta-thalassemia major and need regular blood transfusions.
  • You have been taking iron chelation therapy for at least 6 months.
  • You can attend counseling sessions and fill out questionnaires.
  • You can speak and understand Arabic or English.
  • You are not currently hospitalized for a serious medical problem.
