Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed whipworm infection (tested within the last 30 days).
  • You must be between 6 and 15 years old.
  • A parent or guardian must sign a permission form, and children 9 or older must also agree to take part.
  • You cannot be allergic to the deworming medicines albendazole or ivermectin.
  • You cannot have taken any deworming medicine in the last 3 months.
  • You cannot be in another study or have a serious illness like diarrhea, tuberculosis, or malaria.
