Who can take part
- You have type 2 diabetes and have had it for at least 3 months.
- Your blood sugar is not well controlled with diet and exercise alone or on stable diabetes pills/injectables.
- Your most recent A1C (average blood sugar) is between 7% and 10.5%.
- You have a higher chance of heart problems because of heart disease, stroke history, or at least two risk factors like high blood pressure, smoking, or obesity.
- Your weight has stayed the same for the past 3 months and your BMI is 23 or higher.
- You have not had severe low blood sugar episodes in the last 6 months, and you do not have a history of pancreas problems, thyroid cancer, or advanced heart failure.
