Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 65 years old.
  • You must have a partial-thickness tear of the supraspinatus muscle confirmed by MRI.
  • You must have had shoulder pain for at least 6 weeks.
  • You must be a candidate for a physical therapy program.
  • You cannot have had surgery or a steroid injection in that shoulder recently.
  • You cannot have other major shoulder injuries, arthritis needing surgery, or conditions like stroke or nerve problems.
