Who can take part

  • You have had a stroke confirmed by an MRI scan, and it happened within the last 2 years.
  • You can walk with or without help from one person (walking score of 3 or higher).
  • Your height is between 1.5 and 2 meters (about 4'11" to 6'6") and you weigh 100 kg (220 lbs) or less.
  • You do not have severe memory or thinking problems (score of 18 or higher on a thinking test).
  • You are not pregnant, do not have a pacemaker or similar heart device, and do not have severe aphasia (trouble speaking or understanding language).
  • You are not currently in another research study that could affect your response to this treatment.
