Rhythmic music to improve walking after spinal cord injury

This study tests whether listening to rhythmic music can help people with spinal cord injury walk more smoothly. You will walk while wearing special headphones that play music timed to your steps.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You speak English or Spanish
  • You have a spinal cord injury that is not getting worse, for at least 6 months
  • You can walk at least 40 steps per minute with a clear heel strike, with or without a walker or cane
  • You do not need a knee-ankle-foot brace to walk, and you can walk with a left-right pattern using your device
  • You do not have other health conditions causing weakness
