This trial tests whether carefully managing the pressure in the breathing tube during surgery can help prevent a sore throat in children after they have their appendix removed by keyhole surgery. It may help your child have a more comfortable recovery.

Who can take part
- Your child must be between 6 and 18 years old.
- Your child is scheduled for a laparoscopic appendectomy (a type of keyhole surgery to remove the appendix).
- Your child must have an ASA physical status of I, II, or III (this is a way to rate how healthy a patient is before surgery).
- Your child cannot have a sore throat before the surgery.
- Your child cannot have had a breathing tube put in more than once during the surgery, and the surgery must take less than 2 hours.
- Your child cannot have complicated appendicitis or any other serious health issues like heart or lung problems.
