Who can take part

  • You have had a spinal cord injury between C4 and T12 for more than one year, and you cannot voluntarily move your legs (ASIA A or B).
  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must avoid caffeine, alcohol, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before the study visit.
  • You cannot participate if you have heart disease, kidney disease, untreated thyroid disease, diabetes, or a traumatic brain injury.
  • You need to be a non-smoker and weigh within a healthy range (BMI under 30).
