Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You are scheduled for surgery that requires a breathing tube with general anesthesia.
  • You have a physical status of I, II, or III according to the ASA classification (basically, you are generally healthy or have mild to moderate health issues).
  • You or your legal representative must understand the study and sign a consent form.
  • You do not have conditions that make breathing tube placement very difficult, like severe obesity with sleep apnea, neck radiation, or facial abnormalities.
