Who can take part

  • You have a doctor's diagnosis of asthma or COPD and are currently having a flare-up that needs urgent care.
  • You are receiving steroids (like prednisone) for this flare-up.
  • During this flare-up, your blood test shows a certain type of white blood cell (eosinophil count) at 300 or higher.
  • You weigh at least 40 kg (88 lbs) if you have asthma, or 45 kg (99 lbs) if you have COPD, and your BMI is 45 or less.
  • You have had at least one flare-up in the past that needed steroid treatment.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have certain other health conditions like unstable heart disease or a recent cancer.
  • You have not received certain other experimental or immune-modulating drugs recently.
