- You have a current, sharp attack of gout (acute gout flare).
- Your joint pain is at least 50 out of 100 on a pain scale.
- You have no history of severe allergies (like to certain medicines).

- Your liver and kidney function are normal (checked by your doctor).
- You do not have poorly controlled high blood pressure or nervous system/mental illness.
