Who can take part

  • You must be a healthy adult or an adult with high uric acid (a condition that can lead to gout).
  • You need to be between 18 and 45 years old.
  • Your weight must be at least 110 lbs (men) or 99 lbs (women), with a BMI between 18 and 28 for those with high uric acid.
  • You must not have a history of gout, serious medical conditions, or allergies to the study drug ingredients.
  • You must not use certain medications, alcohol, or caffeine before the study, and you should not smoke heavily.
  • If female, you cannot be pregnant, nursing, or using hormonal contraceptives within certain timeframes.
