Heart and lung coupling in schistosomiasis-related high blood pressure in the lungs

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have schistosomiasis (a parasitic infection from freshwater snails).
  • You must have signs of high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension) based on your doctor's evaluation.
  • You must not have other major heart or lung diseases, like severe COPD or heart failure.
  • You must not have a blood clot in the lungs (chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension).
  • You must not be pregnant or have a serious infection.
