- You have been diagnosed with heart failure for more than 6 months
- Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is below 50%
- You take a 'water pill' (loop diuretic) for heart failure
- You need a right heart catheterization to check heart and lung pressures
- You are older than 18 years
- You do not have severe kidney disease, unstable heart condition, or severe lung disease
