Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old
  • You have lupus (SLE) that is currently active but not severely life-threatening
  • You have been taking the same lupus medications for at least the past 3 months
  • You are not pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
  • You do not smoke, drink alcohol, or take certain medications or supplements like antidepressants, birth control pills, or omega-3s
  • You have no other serious health problems like severe kidney or liver disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes, or a history of stroke
