Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older (any sex)
- Have a lupus diagnosis that meets standard criteria
- Have active lupus kidney disease (nephritis) that requires a kidney biopsy as part of routine care
- Be planning to start standard treatment (like mycophenolate or cyclophosphamide with steroids)
- Not have other kidney diseases, major infections, or be pregnant or breastfeeding
- Not have used certain biologic therapies in the past 3 months
- Not have a history of cancer
