Who can take part

  • Your baby was born at 35 weeks of pregnancy or later.
  • Your baby weighed at least 2,300 grams (about 5 pounds 1 ounce) at birth.
  • Your baby's umbilical cord looked normal at birth (no signs of injury, infection, or birth defect).
  • The mother did not have a fever during labor (temperature under 38°C/100.4°F) or a womb infection, and her water broke less than 18 hours before delivery.
  • The amniotic fluid was clear (not stained with meconium, which is baby's first stool).
  • Your baby did not need to go to a special care nursery or intensive care unit right after birth.
  • Your baby is a single birth (not one of twins, triplets, etc.).
