Blood vessel particles in children with new high blood pressure

This study looks at tiny particles in the blood (called extracellular vesicles) that may signal early blood vessel changes in children with new high blood pressure. If your child is between 6 and 17, has just been diagnosed with high blood pressure and hasn't started treatment, and is otherwise healthy, this trial may help doctors better understand how high blood pressure affects kids.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 6 and 17 years old.
  • Your child's high blood pressure must be new and not yet treated with medication.
  • Your child cannot have other serious health problems like heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, or cancer.
  • Your child cannot be taking any medications that affect blood vessel function.
  • Your child must not have an active infection at the time of the study.
