Core and diaphragm exercises for low back instability

This study tests whether combining diaphragm-strengthening exercises with core stability exercises helps people with low back pain due to an unstable lower spine. If you are 25–35 and have moderate to severe back pain from lumbar instability, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 25 and 35 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with lumbar instability (your lower back moves too much, causing pain).
  • Your average low back pain is greater than 5 on a 0–10 scale.
  • You can lift your straight leg more than 90 degrees while lying down.
  • You do not have heart disease, stroke, nerve problems, or a history of back surgery or spine fracture.
  • You are not severely overweight (waist-to-hip ratio below 0.90 for men, 0.85 for women).
