  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
  • Your most recent A1c test result is between 6.5% and 10%.
  • You have not had a severe low blood sugar episode in the last 6 months.
  • You have not lost more than 11 pounds (5 kg) in the last 3 months without trying.
