Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed mitochondrial gene mutation (m.3243A>G) and diabetes.
  • You must be between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You cannot have other types of diabetes (type 1 or type 2) caused by other reasons.
  • You cannot have other liver diseases like hepatitis or alcohol-related liver damage.
  • You cannot have taken coenzyme Q10 or similar supplements in the last 3 months.
