  • You are between 30 and 70 years old.
  • You have type 2 diabetes and are only taking metformin (or no diabetes medication).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 30 and 40.
  • You are physically inactive (less than 1.5 hours of structured exercise per week).
  • You are able to have an MRI scan (no metal in your body).
