Kinesio taping for immediate relief in thoracic outlet syndrome
Part of Brain & nervous system, Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial tests whether a special tape, called Kinesio tape, can quickly reduce symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome, a condition where nerves or blood vessels are squeezed in the space between the collarbone and first rib. It may help with pain, numbness, or weakness in the arm and hand.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) by a thoracic surgeon.
- You are experiencing symptoms related to TOS, such as pain, tingling, or weakness in the arm or hand.
- You have no fractures or surgeries in your neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, or hand that affect arm function.
- You have no other nerve or muscle disorders (like stroke, multiple sclerosis, or carpal tunnel syndrome) affecting your arm.
- You have no skin issues or allergies to adhesive tape, and you are not pregnant.

This study looks at whether people with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) have different breathing patterns and how that might relate to their symptoms. If you have had TOS pain for more than 6 months, you may be able to help researchers understand this condition better.
This study tests two different kinesio taping techniques to see which better relieves hand numbness, tingling, and pain in people with mild-to-moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. If you have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, this trial might help you find a non-surgical, non-medication treatment option.
This study tests if kinesio taping (a special elastic tape placed on the skin) can help relieve pain from trigger points in the upper shoulder muscle. You will receive the taping as part of the treatment, and the study will see how it affects your pain.
This trial tests if a special tape placed on the arm can help reduce pain and improve symptoms in people with cubital tunnel syndrome. It may be a good option if you have arm pain and have not had surgery or certain injections recently.
This study tests whether a special athletic tape (kinesio tape) helps improve hand function after surgery for an extensor tendon injury in the back of the hand or wrist. The goal is to see if this tape reduces pain and stiffness while you heal.
This study tests whether kinesiology tape (a special stretchy tape applied to the skin) can reduce pain and improve function in people with rotator cuff syndrome, a common shoulder condition. You'll be randomly assigned to receive the tape or a control treatment and tracked over several weeks.
