  • You have not had shingles before.
  • You have not received any shingles or chickenpox vaccine before.
  • You do not have a weakened immune system (e.g., from cancer, HIV, or immunosuppressive drugs).
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant within 6 months.
