Who can take part

  • Your baby was born between 32 and 37 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Your baby needs to stay in the hospital after birth for any reason.
  • Your baby does not have any birth defects that affect the skin.
  • Your baby's blood test shows a certain level of red blood cells (hematocrit between 40 and 60).
  • Your baby is not in immediate danger of life-threatening problems.
  • You or the legal guardian must agree to the study in writing.
