This study looks at how the way your lower jaw is repositioned during corrective jaw surgery affects the natural reshaping of the jaw joint over time. The goal is to help improve long-term joint health and stability after surgery.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with a skeletal Class III bite (underbite) and are scheduled for double-jaw surgery.
  • You have completed the pre-surgery braces (orthodontic) phase.
  • During surgery, your lower jaw can be rotated counterclockwise by no more than 4 degrees to achieve the new bite.
  • You do not have significant facial asymmetry, a cleft lip or palate, craniofacial syndrome, or a history of major facial injury or jaw surgery.
