Who can take part

  • You have had a major heart attack (STEMI) and are scheduled for a procedure to open the blocked artery.
  • You have normal to moderately reduced kidney function.
  • You are able to drink fluids by mouth safely.
  • You have not had an allergic reaction to the contrast dye used during the procedure.
  • You do not have fluid in the lungs or need a breathing tube.
  • You are not on dialysis.
