Drug-Resistant Focal Epilepsy

This trial tests a new type of brain stimulation (temporal interference) to help reduce seizures in adults whose epilepsy has not been controlled by medication. You may be able to join if you are already scheduled for a monitoring procedure called stereo-EEG (sEEG).

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have focal epilepsy that has not been controlled by medication
  • You are already scheduled for a test called stereo-EEG (sEEG) to find the source of your seizures
  • Your doctors plan to place at least one sEEG electrode into a deep brain area called the thalamus
  • You can understand and sign a consent form and follow the study plan
  • You have not had previous brain surgery to remove or destroy seizure tissue
