Diet plans for teenage hives

Urticaria Chronic

This study tests two diets — a Mediterranean diet and a low-histamine diet — to see if they help reduce hives in teenagers with chronic spontaneous urticaria. If your child qualifies, they will follow one of these diets for a period and we will monitor their symptoms.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 12 and 18 years old.
  • They must have a confirmed diagnosis of chronic spontaneous urticaria (hives for more than 6 weeks with no known cause).
  • They must not have recently used strong immune-suppressing medications or high-dose antihistamines (except for a short emergency course).
  • They must not have any food allergies, other chronic diseases, or conditions that need a special diet.
  • Both the child and a parent or guardian must agree to join the study.
