This study tests a new way to treat a type of bile duct cancer (intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma) using sound waves to destroy tumors. It also continues giving an immunotherapy drug called durvalumab. This combination may help control the cancer better and is for people whose cancer is not shrinking anymore after initial chemotherapy.

Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
  • Your cancer was controlled after 18 weeks of standard chemotherapy (gemcitabine/cisplatin) plus durvalumab.
  • Your cancer is not removable by surgery, or you are not a candidate for surgery.
  • You have a tumor that can be treated with histotripsy (sound wave therapy) and is at least 2 cm if you have only one tumor.
  • You are healthy enough to undergo general anesthesia and meet lab requirements for liver, kidney, and blood function.
  • You are not pregnant and will use contraception if needed.
