Who can take part
- You must be between 45 and 70 years old
- You must have severe knee osteoarthritis (often called 'bone-on-bone' or 'severe wear and tear')
- Your knee must be stable (no ligament looseness) and not have a major 'bow-legged' or 'knock-kneed' deformity
- You should want to stay physically active and have not had knee surgery in the past 6 months
- You cannot have uncontrolled diabetes, kidney disease requiring dialysis, or severe osteoporosis
- You must be willing to attend follow-up visits and sign a consent form
