Early infection detection in preterm babies

  • Baby is born before 37 weeks of pregnancy (preterm).
  • Baby is admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the Medical University of Graz after birth.
  • Written informed consent from parents or guardians is provided before the study begins.
  • Baby requires a blood gas analysis within the first 12 hours after birth (as part of routine care).
