Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for elective (non-emergency) surgery to remove a gastrointestinal tumor.
  • Your surgery will be done under general anesthesia.
  • You do not have certain severe heart, lung, or vascular conditions.
  • You are not pregnant, not having an emergency surgery, and your blood pressure is within a certain range.
