Natural killer cell treatment for Mooren's ulcer

Who can take part

  • You have a Mooren's ulcer (a painful, shallow eye ulcer) that has not healed with usual treatments.
  • The ulcer covers no more than half of the cornea's edge and is not too deep (less than two-thirds of the cornea's thickness).
  • You have symptoms like eye pain, sensitivity to light, tearing, or feeling like something is in your eye.
  • Your eye pressure is normal (10–21 mmHg), and you do not have other serious eye problems in the affected or other eye.
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You are generally healthy: no serious heart, liver, kidney, or blood problems; no active infections, cancer, or recent surgery; if diabetic, your blood sugar is well controlled (HbA1C below 8.5%).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are willing to use effective birth control if there is any chance of pregnancy.
