  • Have scheduled (non-emergency) surgery
  • Undergo minimally invasive (laparoscopic or robotic) surgery on the liver, pancreas, or bile ducts
  • Not need emergency surgery
  • Not have a planned open surgery
  • Not be pregnant
  • Be able to give informed consent
  • Have no contraindication to pneumoperitoneum (gas inflation of the abdomen)
