Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a planned (not emergency) C-section with spinal anesthesia.
  • You are between 18 and 45 years old.
  • You are generally healthy or have mild controlled health conditions (ASA II or III).
  • You are having a single baby (not twins or more).
  • You have no contraindications to spinal anesthesia, such as bleeding problems or active infection at the needle site.
  • You do not have severe obesity (BMI less than 40).
  • You have not had back surgery and have no severe spine deformity.
