Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 69 years old.
  • Have a BMI between 27 and 45.
  • Want to lose weight.
  • Own a smartphone that supports apps and Bluetooth, and have reliable internet at home.
  • Be able to walk a quarter mile without stopping.
  • Not have any serious health issues that would make exercise unsafe, like uncontrolled high blood pressure or recent heart problems.
  • Not have lost a lot of weight recently or be on a strict diet or exercise program.
  • Not be taking weight-loss medications or supplements.
  • Not have diabetes or use insulin or other blood sugar-lowering drugs.
  • Not have a history of eating disorders or mental health conditions.
  • Not be pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • Be willing to participate in an online program with virtual meetings for 6 months.
