LASIK for nearsightedness: measuring vision and satisfaction

This study tests how well a new type of LASIK (called ray-tracing-guided) improves vision in low light and how satisfied patients are with the results. It is for people with mild to moderate nearsightedness who want to stop wearing glasses or contacts.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 45 years old.
  • Your vision prescription must be stable for at least one year.
  • You must have nearsightedness (with or without astigmatism) within a certain range.
  • Your best-corrected vision (with glasses or contacts) must be 20/20 or better in each eye.
  • You must be willing to have laser vision correction (LASIK) on both eyes.
  • You must be able to attend follow-up visits as scheduled.
  • You must agree to the study rules and sign a consent form.
  • You must regularly drive at night and plan to continue during the study.
  • Your pupils must be of a certain size (measured at the screening).
  • You must not have had any previous eye surgery on the cornea.
