Who can take part

  • Be 21 years or older and getting LASIK for your eyes
  • Be able to understand the consent form and come back for a 1-month check
  • Have mild nearsightedness/astigmatism (astigmatism under 3.0 diopters) and both eyes planned for “plano” (aiming for minimal prescription)
  • Have good eye health, including adequate corneal thickness (pachymetry 490 microns or more) and a safe remaining cornea thickness (residual over 270 microns)
  • Have stable glasses/contacts prescription (less than 0.50 diopters change in the past year)
  • Stop soft contact lenses (if you use them) at least 3 days before the pre-op exam and surgery
