Immunotherapy before surgery for colon cancer
Treatments studied
Part of Brain & nervous system, Cancer, Digestive system, Genetic & congenital clinical trials.
This trial tests a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (pembrolizumab and porustobart) given before surgery for colon cancer that can be removed. The goal is to see if this treatment can help shrink the tumor and improve outcomes.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must have colon cancer (not rectal) that is 'pMMR' or 'MSS' (a type that does not have high microsatellite instability).
- Your cancer must be at a stage where it can be removed with surgery (stage T3 or T4, any N, and no distant spread).
- You must be in generally good health (able to perform daily activities) and have adequate organ function.
- If you have a history of autoimmune disease, active infection, or prior treatment with certain immunotherapies, you may not be eligible.
- You must not need surgery immediately, and you must not have had major surgery within the last 4 weeks.

This trial tests whether giving the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab before surgery can shrink or eliminate colon tumors in people with dMMR/MSI-high cancer, possibly allowing some to avoid surgery. It is for patients whose cancer has not spread.
This trial tests whether giving chemotherapy followed by an immunotherapy drug (a checkpoint inhibitor) before surgery helps shrink locally advanced colon cancer. It is for people with a specific tumor type (MSS and RAS mutation) who have not had prior treatment.
This trial tests two immunotherapy drugs given before surgery for colon cancer that has not spread. The goal is to see if this approach can shrink the tumor and improve outcomes.
This study tests giving an immunotherapy drug (pembrolizumab) before surgery for people with early-stage colon cancer that has a specific genetic feature. The goal is to see if the drug can shrink the tumor enough to avoid more extensive surgery.
This Phase 2 trial studies giving chemotherapy plus immune therapy before surgery for certain colon cancers that do not have mismatch repair defects (MSS/pMMR). The goal is to shrink and control the tumor and improve outcomes compared with standard approaches.
This trial tests whether giving two immunotherapy drugs before surgery can help shrink colon cancer and improve outcomes. It is for people with a specific type of colon cancer that is planned for surgery.
