Blood test to predict heart calcium in kidney disease

Chronic Kidney DiseaseCoronary Arteries CalcificationsCXCR2 Expression

Treatments studied

Part of Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.

This study looks at whether a simple blood test can predict if calcium will build up in the heart's arteries in people with advanced kidney disease. The goal is to help doctors better monitor heart health in these patients.

Blood and urine tests to study heart risk in kidney disease

This study looks for new markers in blood or urine that may help explain heart (cardiovascular) risk in people with chronic kidney disease. It may help doctors better predict risk, especially in those not yet on dialysis.

NCT06083168Recruiting
Heart disease in chronic kidney disease study

This study is looking at the link between kidney disease and heart disease. It aims to understand how heart problems affect people with chronic kidney disease. The trial does not test a new drug, but rather follows patients to learn more about their health.

NCT03604627Recruiting
Checking coronary calcium to study late heart blood vessel changes

This study looks at coronary calcium (a signal seen on heart scans) to help measure early or late heart blood-vessel problems in people who had cancer treatment as children or young adults. The goal is to better understand who may be at higher risk years later, especially after radiation or certain chemotherapy.

Using chest CT scans to check heart artery calcium

This study uses artificial intelligence to look at routine chest CT scans and check for calcium buildup in the heart arteries, which can signal heart disease risk. It aims to see if this can catch heart problems early without needing extra scans.

NCT06383208Recruiting
Heart and kidney risk study for people with both diseases

This study looks at how well we can predict heart and kidney problems in people who have both coronary heart disease and chronic kidney disease. By analyzing certain markers, researchers hope to create a better risk assessment tool.

NCT06194526Enrolling by invitation
Blood test to measure heart artery plaque

This study is testing whether a new blood test can detect the amount of plaque buildup in your heart arteries compared to what a CT scan shows. It may help people with known or suspected coronary artery disease get a simpler, faster way to check their heart health.
