Ultrasound brain stimulation and visual perception study

Consciousness, Level Altered

Part of Brain & nervous system, Mental health clinical trials.

This study uses focused ultrasound (sound waves) to gently stimulate a small part of the brain while you look at visual patterns. It aims to learn how this affects perception, which may help develop new treatments for brain conditions.

Waking the brain with ultrasound during sedation

This study uses focused ultrasound to stimulate a deep brain region and see if it can help people wake up faster from anesthesia. Healthy volunteers will be sedated and monitored while the ultrasound is applied.

NCT07508722Not yet recruiting
Ultrasound brain stimulation for healthy adults

This study uses gentle ultrasound waves to temporarily change how the brain's visual and hearing centers respond. It is for healthy adults and may help researchers understand how to use ultrasound as a tool for brain stimulation without surgery.

Cambridge, Massachusetts
NCT07671079Not yet recruiting
Brain stimulation study for healthy young adults

This study tests a new way to use mild electrical stimulation on the brain, which might help improve how the brain works. It is for healthy young adults who are right-handed and not taking certain medications.

Nottingham
NCT03192436Recruiting
Safety study using brain mapping with focused ultrasound

This study tests the safety of a brain stimulation approach that uses special brain recording and “focused ultrasound” targeted by brain signals. It is designed for healthy adults and checks whether the procedure is tolerated without serious side effects.

NCT05303428Not yet recruiting
Sound waves and brain activity in healthy volunteers

This study tests whether gentle, low-intensity sound waves targeted at the brain can change brain activity, as seen on MRI scans. It's for healthy people only and involves two types of imaging scans.

How focused ultrasound affects thinking and brain activity

This trial uses low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) and brain scans to see how it affects thinking. It may help researchers find new ways to treat brain conditions.
