Who can take part
- You have at least one living family member (parent, sibling, or relative) who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another type of dementia
- You are willing to provide a biological sample: either fresh blood, a cell sample, or frozen brain tissue (if available from a prior medical procedure)
- Your family has not already participated in the National Institute of Mental Health AD Genetics Sib Pair collection
- You understand that individual genetic test results will not be shared with you or your family—this is not a diagnostic genetic test
