Stent treatment for large abdominal aortic aneurysms

Thoracoabdominal Aortic AneurysmParavisceral Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial studies a less invasive stent procedure that blocks blood flow into certain large aneurysms in the chest-to-abdomen or upper abdomen area. It may help prevent aneurysm growth and rupture while avoiding the risks of open surgery.

Who can take part

  • Your aneurysm is large enough (about 6 cm+ in men or 5.5 cm+ in women) or is growing quickly
  • Your aneurysm may involve the iliac arteries, such as an iliac aneurysm over 4 cm
  • You’re expected to live more than 2 years and your overall risk is similar to typical surgery cases
  • You can consent (say yes after understanding the study) and plan to follow all follow-up visits
  • Your blood vessel “map” (arterial anatomy) must fit the stent procedure

Study of a new stent graft for thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm

This trial tests a new multibranched stent graft system to treat thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms. It may help patients who have an aneurysm that is large, growing quickly, or causing symptoms like pain.

NCT00583817Enrolling by invitation
Endovascular repair for thoracic aortic aneurysms and dissections

This study tests whether repairing an enlarged or tearing (dissection) thoracic aorta using a catheter-based procedure can be safer for people who are high-risk for open surgery. It uses specialized stent grafts placed through blood vessels to seal the problem and prevent complications.

NCT05339061Recruiting
Modified stent graft for complex abdominal aortic aneurysms

This study tests a specially customized endovascular (through blood vessels) repair for certain large or fast-growing aneurysms near the kidney area or chest-to-abdomen area. It may help people who are higher risk for open surgery and whose anatomy fits the device.

NCT02089607Recruiting
Fenestrated or branched stent for large aortic tears or bulges

This study tests a special type of stent-graft (a tube with branch openings) to treat large or rapidly growing aneurysms and certain aortic dissections in the chest/abdomen or aortic arch. It aims to prevent the aneurysm from rupturing and to safely restore blood flow to key branch arteries.

Large Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm Treatment Study

This trial is for people with a large bulge in the main artery in the chest and belly area (called a thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm). The study will look at how to treat these aneurysms when they are larger than 5.5 cm to prevent serious problems.

NCT03111459Recruiting
Endovascular repair for large thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms

This trial studies a minimally invasive (endovascular) procedure to repair large or risky aneurysms in the aorta near the chest and abdomen. It may help prevent aneurysm rupture and improve outcomes compared with other possible treatments.
