Who can take part

  • You had gastric bypass (RYGB) and have had very low blood sugar (under 50 mg/dl) or you are an asymptomatic bariatric surgery patient
  • Or you are a healthy person who has never been diagnosed with diabetes
  • You can physically travel to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center research center for study visits
  • You do not have major active heart, lung, liver, stomach/gut, or kidney disease
  • You can provide informed consent, and you are not pregnant
  • For bypass participants: no gastric outlet blockage and no severe diarrhea
